Welcome to the Canton of Hawk's Hollow!

The Canton of Hawk's Hollow is the local chapter of the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) covering the North Denver, Colorado, Metro Area. We are a part of the Barony of Caerthe, which covers all of Metro Denver, which is in turn part of the Kingdom of the Outlands, the regional group covering New Mexico, most of Colorado, parts of Nebraska, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and El Paso & Hudspeth counties in Texas.

The Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a non-profit international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe.

Getting Started

If you are new to the SCA and want to know how to get started, check out the different areas of the website. The Newcomer's section has information tailored specifically for new people to the SCA. The Officers are also a great source of information regarding activities in the group and the SCA as a whole.

About our Name

Within the SCA, a Canton is a small group that lives in the fiefdom of a landed noble. In this case, we are part of the Barony of Caerthe. Our current ruling noble is Her Excellency Mary Blakthorn.

In the SCA there are several different types of groups. The largest organization structure are regional groups known as Kingdoms. Within Kingdoms are local groups centered around specific locales. These are Baronies and Shires. Baronies have a landed noble while Shires do not. The landed noble for a Barony is chosen by the current Crown (King and Queen) with the advice of the local membership (populace), and usually serves about two years. A sub-group within a Barony is called a Canton. There are also Colleges, which are normally associated with College and University student groups, and can be part of either a Shire or a Barony.

Business Meeting

The Canton has a monthly business meeting which usually occurs on the Last Friday of each month (this is occasionally moved due to scheduling conflicts) at 7:00pm, and ends before 9:00pm. Check the Scheduled Meeting Dates page for a full list of dates.

Room: Currently we have no set room. Ask the receptionist which room we are in when you arrive.
Directions: From I-25 and 120th Ave, go East to Grant St. Turn South (Right) an go approximately 1/4 mile. The Rec Center is on the Right.
